General Manager – Mining
Job Description
• Supervise daily mining operations (drilling, blasting, hauling, loading) ensuring optimal manpower and equipment utilization. • Plan and execute production activities to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual targets within budget. • Enforce SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) protocols, lead audits, and ensure statutory compliance. • Ensure adherence to DGMS and mining laws; maintain documentation and inspection records. • Control costs through budgeting, cost-saving initiatives, and variance management. • Lead and mentor cross-functional teams for continuous skill and performance improvement. • Liaise with contractors, government authorities, and communities for smooth operations.
Education & Experience
Education
Bachelor’s/Master’s in Mining Engineering with a valid Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency
Experience Level
15+ years in open-cast copper mining and large-scale mining operations management
Additional Information
Strong leadership, planning, and safety management experience in open-cast copper mining essential.
