Works Manager – Production & Operations
Job Description
Lead mining, beneficiation, and NPK production operations. Develop and execute production plans to achieve business targets. Drive operational efficiency, productivity improvement, and waste reduction. Manage plant equipment, machinery, fleet, and maintenance programs. Oversee Quality Control processes and ensure ISO 9001 compliance. Monitor production KPIs and implement corrective actions. Manage plant administration, manpower planning, budgeting, and operational reporting. Lead cross-functional teams across Production, Maintenance, Quality, Safety, and Administration. Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, environmental standards, and company policies. Handle workforce management, employee relations, and performance development.

Education & Experience
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related field. MBA/Postgraduate qualification in Operations Management or Business Administration preferred. Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems is mandatory. Lead Auditor/Internal Auditor certification preferred.
Experience Level
Minimum 10+ years in plant, factory, or works management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in Fertilizer, Mining, Chemical, Cement, Minerals Processing, or Heavy Manufacturing industries preferred.
Additional Information
Candidates must be willing to relocate to Tanzania. Strong experience in Fertilizer, Mining, Chemical, Cement, or Heavy Manufacturing is preferred. Proven leadership in large manufacturing operations and multidisciplinary teams is essential. Experience with Production, Maintenance, Quality, HSE, and Industrial Relations is highly desirable.
