Carding Technical Expert – Preventive Maintenance
Job Description
Perform preventive maintenance on the Saurer JSC328 carding line. Maintain the mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical health of carding machines and chute feeders. Inspect, maintain, grind, and replace card clothing as required. Set and calibrate critical machine gauges to ensure product quality. Maintain and troubleshoot auto-leveller systems. Diagnose and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical faults. Minimize machine downtime through planned maintenance activities. Support installation, commissioning, and optimization of new equipment.
Education & Experience
Education
HND, B.Eng, or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Textile Engineering, or a related field.
Experience Level
Hands-on maintenance experience on high-production carding machines, preferably Saurer JSC328 or comparable Chinese/European equipment. Strong experience in preventive maintenance of carding lines. Expertise in card clothing maintenance, wire condition assessment, grinding, and replacement. Knowledge of card gauge setting and machine calibration.
Additional Information
Expatriate position based in Tamburaa, Kano State, Nigeria. Experience with Saurer JSC328 or similar high-production carding equipment is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of card clothing, preventive maintenance, PLC systems, auto-levellers, and pneumatics is essential.
